Summer Launch

Summer Launch registration is now closed.

Summer Launch is D97’s new summer program that has been created in place of Prep for Success. We have designed Summer Launch to be a more engaging and interactive experience for students, while giving them additional support over the summer. This year, students receiving Tier 3 interventions in their schools were invited to the Summer Launch program.

The 1st/2nd grade Summer Launch program is Reading and Writing Workshop, in which students have opportunities to practice reading and writing strategies both independently and with guidance.

The 3rd-8th grade Summer Launch program allows students to attend Summer BASE Camp with the Oak Park Education Foundation. Through a partnership with the OPEF, our 3rd-8th grade Summer Launch students will attend with other campers to work on hands-on projects that build creative problem-solving skills while connecting kids to their peers and their community.

Participation in the Summer Launch program is by invitation only, and is free to invited students  (with a $25 non-refundable registration fee).

Below are details for each Summer Launch program:

  • 1st/2nd Grade Reading and Writing Workshop
  • 3rd-5th Grade BASE Camp
