Superintendent Goals and Indicators:

In order to achieve the District 97 mission, beliefs, and objectives, the Superintendent and the Board establish the following Superintendent goals and indicators for the 2007-2008 school year:

Goal 1: Implement curriculum, instruction, and assessment so that all students show maximum continuous improvement.

      Indicators:

  1. All subgroups at all schools make AYP

  2. All students make academic gains of at least 1 academic year; those with individual education plans (IEPs) achieve all IEP goals.

  3. Improved proportionality of discipline referrals, special education placements, and ISAT results among ethnic, racial, and socio-economic subgroups of students in the district.

Goal 2:  Establish a budget development and review process that will assure that district resources are managed efficiently and that expenditures support Board priorities and goals.

      Indicators:

    1. Board receives timely information on major factors impacting the District budget in a manner which facilitates responsible budget decision-making.

    2. Findings are favorable in annual audit report and accompanying management letter.

    3. Financial performance targets for 5 year projections are developed.

Goal 3: Develop district management, procedures and practices in the areas of human resources, operations and maintenance (O&M) and finance.

      Indicators:

  1. Procedures and practices that address deficiencies identified in the April, 2006 Procedural Review are online.

  2. O&M plan created and implemented.

 Goal 4: Implement the strategic plan according to phasing.

      Indicators:

  1. Plan implemented according to phasing plan and within resources available to the district.

  2. Review of the implementation occurs quarterly at Board meetings.

  3. Superintendent meets with staff and community groups to discuss, review, and advocate for the strategic plan.

Goal 5: Create an environment that supports highly qualified and satisfied employees.

Indicators:

  1. Cabinet members’ and principals’ evaluation of the Superintendent reflect high levels of satisfaction.

Cabinet members’ and principals’ evaluation of the Superintendent is positive for implementation of the 5 principles of participatory decision-making.
