CONGRATULATIONS!
Longfellow was voted the winner of the Downtown Oak Park (DTOP) Eco-Art Contest for a Plastic Bottle Cap Sea Turtle. It has been on display at Matter of Style Hair Salon on Marion Street.
Mr. Winchell's 5th Graders came up with the concept and the design, and a small group of 4th graders- Terrell, Ethan, Lucy, Sebastian and Jazmin- chose the bottle cap colors and glued them down. Longfellow will be receiving a banner, a DTOP gift certificate, and the students will be featured in a story in the Wednesday Journal.
We are all so proud of our amazing young artists! Click here to see a photo of the wonderful mosaic they created.
