Philharmonic Orchestra
The Philharmonic Orchestra is a co-curricular performing ensemble that rehearses one day a week before school during the spring trimester. It is designed to give GBMS orchestra and band students the experience of performing in a full “symphony” orchestra setting. Members of the Symphonic and Concert Orchestras are required to participate and will prepare music in daily orchestra class. String players will be required to attend select morning (before school) rehearsals for concert preparation. Chair placements for Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion sections are appointed to 7th/8th grade band students for a limited number of positions. Regular attendance and individual practice is required of all woodwind, brass and percussion players. Failure to attend rehearsals and performances is grounds for dismissal.
