Mann School Technology Team
The next meeting date is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17 at 7:20am. If you are interested in joining our tech team, please e-mail me: firstname.lastname@example.org
In the fall of 2012, the Mann School Technology Team earned a Special Award of Recognition from the Illinois State Board of Education. This award was granted for work the team has done over the last five years of planning and implementing technologies in classrooms. Various student and teacher tools, coupled with progressive pedagogy, have dramatically enhanced the way teachers teach and students learn. "We owe this technology team an award for envisioning a new kind of classroom, persevering, and partnering with parents and District 97 to help our children realize their fullest potential.”
The names listed on the application as members of the team were Michael Arensdorff, Colin Reynolds, Chris Bell, Alan Randolph, Katherine Whitley, Kathy Rolfes, Veronica White, Tim Kaegi and Nimisha Kumar. This core group drafted a vision, raised funds, and orchestrated the execution of this plan over the last five years at Mann. It is equally important to recognize District 97 and the Mann School PTO for their investment and support in putting 21st century technology in the hands of our students. The vision for integrating technology into daily teaching and learning experiences in our school is truly a community effort. And of course we want to recognize our incredible teaching staff for their dedicated efforts in making technology work in the classrooms. No matter how many tools students use, teachers are still the single greatest influence on the educational experience for all students.
The Technology Team will continue to meet on a regular basis to plan for our future, share best practices and research innovative ways to enhance the educational experience for all students. The Those Who Excel banquet will take place on Saturday, October 20 at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel in Normal, Illinois.
