World Language - Spanish - Grade 2
Comprehension Outcomes
- Understand the spoken target language in the classroom setting
Participation Outcomes
- Follow classroom instructions
- Demonstrate listening skills and comprehension through active participation
- Respond appropriately to teacher prompts: physically, orally,
and in writing
- Demonstrate cooperation, good sportsmanship, and respect
Communication Outcomes
Oral:
- Imitate modeled sentences
- Use basic memorized vocabulary and new vocabulary in context
- Use target language whenever possible
- Communicate independently in one or two word utterances and where
possible in complete sentences
- Use correct pronunciation, especially of vowel sounds
Written:
- Model written expressions with medium to high degree of accuracy
Cultural Outcomes
- Demonstrate familiarity with another culture through target language
- Demonstrate appreciation of and respect for other cultures, especially
those that speak target language
