The Riverside Train

Jena K

Once there was a boy that loved trains. He lived with his grandfather. One day the boy said to his grandfather, “will you tell us a story about trains?” His grandfather began to speak.

“Once there was a train that only drove in Riverside. All the way on the other side of town. The people wondered why he would only drive on the other side of town. In riverside they tried everything they could but how hard they tried, they could not get the train to come over by them. The conductor would never tell why. Days, weeks, months, and even years went by. Babies were born, got older and older. All people really wanted to know. People wrote about it but never knew why it only drove over there. Everybody wanted to know. They all crowded around the train. But he would just drive off. The story spread all across the world. More and more people wanted to know. All over the world came to ask why even the people from Riverside. Then the Riverside train had nobody to drive around. So he sat in his train for days with no people to drive around. He sat there for weeks. He decided to go over there. It was miles to get there. He told the crowd because my dad died here and I do not want to drive here because it reminds me of my dad and it makes me sad. The end.”

“Wow Grandfather that was great.” He loved the story so much he spread it and told it to his kids.
