A Pioneer Girl’s Diary
The
dust felt like powder to my eyes. It was my third day traveling in a covered wagon. We
are traveling from New York to Kentucky.
I
didn’t want to move. Papa said it
was too crowded in New York and he wanted some more wide open space.
It’s
only been three days and I miss my grandma and grandpa. I miss my best friend Sarah. But at least my family’s not the only
ones. We’re traveling in a wagon
train.
I
do have one friend on the trip, William, an older boy. His wagon is the wagon
in front of ours. He’s about sixteen.
Up,
it’s time to go to bed. See you in
the morning.
