Music Instrument Encyclopedia

This site would be great for any instrumental student specially grades 5 and 7 as they work on their instrument history assignment. There are descriptions of all sorts of instruments (Western and non) as well as audio samples of each.

Pokey's Sax Page

A clearinghouse of information regarding the saxophone. Great for any player grades 4-8. This site includes the history of the instrument, famous players with biographies, as well as links to other saxophone sites.

Trumpeter's Fanfare

This is an absolutely awesome site with more information than one could ever want to know about the trumpet. It includes the history, the anatomy, including the workings of the valves, a discussion on the harmonic series, playing tips, etc. Fascinating stuff, especially for teachers and junior high trumpet players.
