Many MATH ENRICHMENT CLASSES OFFERED
Students currently in 6th and 7th grade will have the opportunity to participate in voluntary math enrichment classes this summer. Participation in the class would be at no charge to the parent/ guardian. The intent of this program is to provide a structure whereby students can spend time "digging deeper" into pre algebra and algebra skills and concepts learned during the school year.

This program is collaboration between District 97 and Oak Park River Forest High School District 200. Instructors will use District 97 textbooks and materials, our teachers will be providing the instruction, but the high school has generously offered to partially fund the program. The District 97 teachers below will provide the instruction for the enrichment program.

We do realize that many Oak Park families are extremely busy during the summer weeks. Therefore, each of the above teachers has contacted parents in order to get an idea as to when the most beneficial time for classes should be. Based on those conversations, Mr. Rogers, Ms. Pietrzak, Ms. Lewis, and Mrs. Parsetich have arranged their summer enrichment classes to best fit the schedules of the parents. Therefore, the voluntary summer enrichment class program is presented as follows:

Teacher Name Current Grade Level Dates Days of the Week Location of the Classes Time of the Day
Alleyn Rogers 6th only 6/10 - 6/27 M - F Brooks (C204) 9:00 - 11:00

The middle school summer enrichment program is not mandatory. It is not a remedial program structured to provide needed support to academically struggling children. This is a summer instructional strategy. It is a voluntary, enhanced program employed to give children an opportunity to "hone" their algebra and pre algebra skills.

If you are interested in having your child participate in the voluntary summer math enrichment program, please complete the registration form. Have your child return the registration form to his/ her math teacher as soon as possible. The summer math enrichment teacher will contact you if further information is required.

Please call Dr. Kelly Baird at (708) 524 -3027 if you have any questions.
