Rules:

1. In an official game, there are always twenty-two players on the field at a time, or eleven per team.

2. Each player may receive either two yellow cards or one red card to be kicked out of the game. (They receive these cards for making fouls).

3. On each side, there are three Forwards, three Midfield, three Defense, a Sweeper, and one Goalie (a sweeper is technically part of the defense but it is easier to explain it if we think of him as his own position).

4. When one offensive player of a team, goes past the a defender of the opposing team and the ball is passed to him, then an Offsides is called and the ball is given to the defending team. However, when both the offensive players are behind the defender, they can pass the ball freely.

How to play:

illustration of a soccer field1. The game begins with a coin toss that decides which team will get to kickoff the ball first During a kickoff, the team that kicks off the ball must pass the ball to the other team's side.

2. A soccer player may use any part of their bodies except for their hands and arms, unless they are the goalie, in which case, any body part is fair game.

3. When the ball goes out of bounds, the team that did not hit the ball last gets to either throw it in if it is out on the sideline, or is kicked from the corner of the penalty area. The third and final out of boundaries is a corner kick, in this kick, the ball starts off at the corner and is kicked in it is usually kicked towards the goal area because the only way for a corner kick to occur is if the defending team kicks the ball out on the end line, also, the only way for a goal kick is for the offending team to kick the ball out of bounds on the end line.

4.When a point is scored, the team that was scored on gets to kick off the ball at the center of the field. Then the whole cycle continues over again.

Players:

1. The Forwards are the players that must stay on the opposing team's side for the whole game. They are also usually the people that score goals because they get the ball passed to them since they are already near the opposing team's goal.

2.The three forwards are the people that must run the most during a soccer game. These players can go on either side of the field as long as they still have the energy. These players are used mostly for getting the ball from one side of the field, to another player.

3.The three defense on each team must stay on their teams side. They are relied upon to keep the ball from getting in the goal, also they have the task of getting the ball out of their team's side.

4.The one sweeper on the team is actually part of the defense but it is easier to refer to them as their own kind of player since they are separate from the defense. These players have to make sure that at all cost, whatever gets past the defense, must get kicked away right away, this even means having to kick the ball out of bounds if they have to.

5.The goalie, this player has what could be considered the most important goal (pardon the pun), he is the last line separating the goal from the other team scoring. He can use all of his body to block the ball, including his hands as long as he is in the goal area.
