Kayaking

My favorite places I go are places I go in my kayaks. I have two kayaks, a white water kayak and a sea kayak.

In the spring, my dad and I paddle on the Vermillion and the Du Page rivers. They are good beginner rivers because they don't have many big rapids and have pretty warm water. It is really fun because you are in control of where you go and what you do. Also the other paddlers are very supportive and have a good sense of humor. White water boats are short and turn very easily.

During the summer my parents, my brother, and I paddle on lakes. This is called sea kayaking. Sea kayaks are longer and feel more tippy, but they go straighter which is convenient for flat water.We paddled 50 miles in New York and Canada.
