Buying Fish for
New Year's
There are many traditions during
the winter holiday season in Japan. The New Year's season
runs from December 31 to January 3.
Ikebana is done at
New Year's to make Kadomatsu arrangements. The ones pictured
here are at the entrances to shops.
Many kinds of fish and seafood
are prepared, often purchased dryed or pickled, since a long
time ago there was not refridgeration.
Come now and enjoy a trip to
the fish shops. You'll seem many things that you recognize
and a few you might not!
