Matsuri is one of the three biggest festivals in all of Japan. Floats are
built over a week's time before the parade and are open for people to walk
through. This year's parade is especially difficult due to rain - some
even heavy rain. You'll notice that the floats are covered with plastic
to protect the valuable tapestries. It is an added difficulty to move and
turn the Hoko, with it's heavy wooden wheels. |
