The Best Christmas Ever

Krystle M.

It is a tradition for my family every Christmas to gather at my aunt’s house. It is the biggest holiday celebrated in my family. I have many memories of holidays, but one in particular is very special to me.

The day before Christmas last year, 2004, my parents and I went over to my aunt’s house. All of my family was there and everyone was happy to see each other. Everyone sat around the table talking and consuming all kinds of food. As the night continued everyone was enjoying the time. Then all of the sudden my cousin ran in from the outside and yelled, “it’s snowing!” As soon as she finished the last word, everyone sprung up and ran outside. I saw these white particles falling on top of the cars parked in the driveway. I was so shocked and couldn’t believe my eyes. I had never seen snow before in my 17 years of life. I approached near to the cars and touched the snow. As I put my hands on it, the snow quickly melted away. Then my cousins started gathering the snow to make snowballs and threw them at each other. My family was also amazed to see the snow because they hadn’t seen snow in years. I stayed outside for quite a long time enjoying the snow. All the cars started turning white as the night progressed. Soon the grass and everything else was covered with snow. Later as midnight was approaching, my family began exchanging gifts. I got a gift card to Foley’s.

This time in my life will always be remembered. I will never forget the first time it snowed and all my family was together having a good time. Hopefully this year Christmas will be even better and it will snow again so I can have another great memory.
