Technology 1: More effecient solar cells using quantum dot technology
Currently, the push for solar energy is being held back by the ineffeciency of solar cells. Not only are they not very effecient, but they are also insanely expensive. But quantum dot technology may be able to save this situation.... Read more here.

Technology 2: Tiny, über-high-resolution cameras
Modern digital cameras imitate film cameras, meaning they are highly ineffecient. However, with a new camera algorithm being developed, cameras can be smaller, lighter, use less batteries, and take higher resolution pictures than a modern SLR. Read more here.

Technology 3: Avoiding the diffraction limit
Two scientists at Harvard have created a way around the diffraction limit so that laser light can be focused into a point one-twentieth of the wavelength. This opens new doors for data storage, and our current DVDs could store 750 times what they can store now. Read more here.
