An Ant's Voice

Grades K-3, Heron Creek School, Oregon City, Oregon

by Dyami

One day an ant crawled into a lizard's cave. When the lizard got home he saw a shadow and said, “Who is in my cave?” The ant said, “It is I, the one that squishes elephants as I pass.” The lizard got scared and ran to find some animals. The animals could not help because they got scared too. Then the frog made the ant get out by hopping to the mouth of the cave. Then he took one more hop. When the ant came out, the animals laughed at themselves.
