Petite Rouge and her Mama lived in a quaint village. They lived in a swamp. The swamp water was really shallow. Petite Rouge lived to wear her red hood.

Grand-meré had the flu. Petite Rouge carried Grand-meré goodies in a basket. Petite Rouge was brave.

Petite Rouge was a duck. TeJean was the cat. Petite Rouge and TeJean go in a pirogue.

Mama said, "Don't stop in the swamp!" Claude the alligator was very mean to Petite Rouge. Claude tried to trick Petite Rouge. Petite Rouge almost hit Claude with the push-pole.

Claude zooms to Grand-meré's house. Uh-oh! The shelf fell down. "Oops!" said Claude.

Claude had huge jaws. He pretended to be asleep. Petite Rouge said, "What a big nose you have, Grand-Meré!"

Claude tried to eat Petite Rouge. The cat had an idea.

When Claude's nose turned red, Petite Rouge and Grand-meré laughed. That mean old alligator's mouth was on fire. Claude got his tail ties in knots. The alligator jumped out the window and fell in the swamp.

Grand-meré and Petite Rouge shared the food.
