Puss 'N Boots

Grade 2, Shady Side Academy Junior School, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

There was a miller’s son and his father died and he gave them all a gift.

The eldest son got a mill. The second eldest got a donkey. And the youngest son got puss, the cat.

The cat kept asking the youngest son for boots. The cat was magical. And in return he promised that they would always have something to eat.

Puss caught animals and gave them to the king and said they were from Marquis of Carabas. The cat said that the Marquis has a castle with a thousand rooms, a chest of jewels and a hundred Arabian horses. The king wants to come to his castle and see all of his possessions. Puss goes to the ogre’s palace and tricks him to turn into a mouse and Puss eats him! After Puss eats the ogre, a big banquet is prepared. The King comes and sees that everything that Puss said was true. The Marquis of Carabas marries the princess and they live happily ever after.
