Read-a-thon

The Hatch School Read-a-thon was introduced by Principal Sheila Carter in 1999 to encourage participation in the many rewards of reading. The correlation between participation in the read-a-thon and success on the ISAT Reading test is amazingly high. There is no doubt that reading at home improves academic skills! The Read-a-thon also rewards readers for their efforts with a "Pizza and Play Day" at the Naperville Gymnastic Center. This is typically held in the Spring. Children must read at least 176 books to qualify. Readers are winners! Join the fun!
