Number Hawks Tutoring Program Returning to Holmes for 18-19 School Year

Do you want to help support our children’s math development? Number Hawks, which is a volunteer-based tutoring program for students in K-2, is coming back to Holmes for the 2018-19 school year. The goals of this program include:

  • Increasing number sense;
  • Building mental math capabilities (fluency); and
  • Encouraging flexibility, accuracy and efficiency in math.

We are currently looking for parent/guardian volunteers who have time and are interested in helping students with math here at school. Tutoring sessions will take place on Tuesdays for 30 minutes per grade level.

  • Kindergarten: 1:25 p.m. to 1:55 p.m.
  • 1st Grade: 12:55 p.m. to 1:25 p.m.
  • 2nd Grade: 11:30 a.m. to noon

All parents/guardians must undergo a background check prior to volunteering (visit the D97 website for information about the background check process). If you have questions about signing up, please email [email protected]. If you have questions about Number Hawks, please email [email protected]
