District 97 Earns Bright Red Apple Award of Excellence
District 97 was among the 83 recipients of the Illinois School District 2010 Bright Red Apple Award of Excellence from SchoolSearch. The Oak Leaves published a story about this accomplishment.

Special Study Session About Proposed Referendum
On March 16, the District 97 Board of Education will be holding a second special study session about the district's finances and the prospect of seeking a referendum. This session will take place in the board room of the administration building at 7 p.m.

Wednesday Journal Publishes Several District-Related Stories
The March 10 edition of the Wednesday Journal featured several district-related items, including an article, Viewpoint pieces and letters regarding the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) issue involving the Village of Oak Park, District 200 and District 97; two Viewpoint pieces regarding the presentation at the Beye PTO meeting by Shannon Sullivan from the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance; and a Viewpoint piece about the district's proposed referendum; and an article about Dr. Constance Collins being named a finalist for the superintendent position in Round Lake Area Schools District 116.

Oak Leaves Publishes Several District-Related Stories
In addition to the story about the district's Bright Red Apple Award, the Oak Leaves recently published several district-related items, including an article and editorial about the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) issue involving the Village of Oak Park, District 200 and District 97; an article about the district's decision to revise its serious misconduct policy; and an article about Irving School's WORM Club; and an article about Dr. Constance Collins being named a finalist for the superintendent position in Round Lake Area Schools District 116.

Nourish to Flourish Program
The District's Wellness Council is celebrating the third month of its Nourish to Flourish program, which provides tips to help children succeed both in and out of the classroom. The focus for this month is the benefits of good nutrition.
