Chorus

The Irving Chorus meets once weekly for 45 minutes. To be in chorus you need to be in 4th or 5th grade and want to sing! During regular music classes we play instruments, recorders, move, learn about note reading, form, and many other things. But chorus is a time to sing. The students learn how to warm up their voices, how to sing beautifully in unison and then in many parts. Often we learn canons first, but then quickly move into songs with 2-3 parts. The Irving Chorus performs several times throughout the year: the Winter Concert, the District Choral Festival (April 1 this year) and Irving's Arts Festival. Singing together is a joy for us all!
