Julian P.R.I.M.E Time (Peer Math Tutoring)

P.R.I.M.E. TIME (Peers Recognizing the Importance of Math Education) is a peer tutoring organization at Julian that pairs 8th grade students, as tutors, with teacher recommended 6th grade students that may benefit from additional math help.  Tutors assist tutees with practice problems, preparing for assessments, building basic math skills, reviewing completed homework, and solidifying concepts learned in class.  Students meet with the same tutor each week to build continuity and a positive social and academic relationship.

Peer tutoring meets weekly on Thursday mornings from 8:00-8:45 a.m. in Ms. Guarino’s room (C204).  The tutorials are split into three sessions of approximately 10 weeks in length.  New tutees and tutors are always welcome at the start of each session.
