Geological Information

The Arch of Triomphe is located in France. It is located at the end of Champs Elysees, a broad avenue in Paris. This arch is 148 feet long, 50 meters high, 45 meters wide,and 22 meters thick. This rock is made out of granite and marble. There are many types of rocks found in France like breccia, limestone, halite, magnetite, pyrite, galena, and calcite.The arch was made in1836 and it wasn't important until 1914/1918, when World War 1 was in session and underneath the arch is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. What the Arch of Triomphe is made of is found in Paris and it has carved pictures of people like Napoleon and the soldiers of the war.

Inside the arch is a small museum. Around the monument has 30 shields that represent the victory that they had in World War 1.
