Welcome to my web page

My name is Karen Foleno and I am the Student Support Specialist at Beye School.  This is my eighth year at Beye and my 20th in Oak Park.  I'd like to tell you a few things about my job that you may or may not know.  First and foremost, I will do whatever it takes to help a child become successful at school, both academically and socially/emotionally.  Those responsibilities range from working with students/communicating with families and planning/implementing school programs while attending to overall school needs.

We are a PBIS school which means we emphasize reteaching opportunities for our students while focusing on the positive.  We have rewards and incentives for students who follow the 5 B's.  Can your child recite our Beye Law's? Can you?  Those B's are part of what makes Beye such a great place to learn and grow!   

If your child can come to me with the blanks filled in, he/she will get a paw pass!

October is Anti-Bullying month!  To participate, each homeroom will choose one PBIS goal to work on.  This goal should be a social-emotional goal centering around one of the following categories:

* self awareness

* self management

* social awareness

* interpersonal skills

* decision making skills

* responsible behavior

At the end of the month, homerooms that reached their goal will get anti-bullying back pack tags for every student!  We always need to remember to treat others with respect, everyday!
