The Up at Lincoln Story originated over 30 years ago when Mr. Dan Franco was the principal at Lincoln School. Whenever he attended meetings he would hear questions like "What is happening down at Lincoln?" He decided he liked the sound of "up at Lincoln" better, so the tradition began. Since then students earn "wow" slips for outstanding achievement, acts of kindness, responsibility, good behavior, and other worthy reasons. When a student has collected 10 wow slips, they are turned in and a certificate is posted in a place of honor and an Up at Lincoln button is awarded. Every past and present student and staff member is considered to be part of the Up at Lincoln family.
Each year a Lincoln Staff member is selected as the Up at Lincoln person of the year. The colors for the Lincoln Button are selected by this person. The banner in this image shows all the Up at Lincoln buttons from the beginning. Thirty two years and counting.
