Mr. Podlasek and his second grade students served a delicious vegetable salsa made, in part, from vegetables harvested from the Longfellow garden. It included corn, carrots, cilantro, and tomatoes. Our harvest was not bountiful enough to produce the needed amount for the tasting, but all of the vegetables used were the same types that were grown in the garden. The garden was planted, grown and tended by many of Longfellow's students, staff and families under the guidance of Mr. Podlasek.
