We at PAAC believe that
the administration, faculty, parents, and students of Oak Park
District 97 should work to create a high-quality, culturally competent
learning environment that promotes academic success, mutual respect,
cooperation, and increased self-esteem among all children, especially
children of African American heritage.
- to advocate for a supportive learning environment that enables
all students to achieve academic success;
- to work to strengthen the cooperative link between home and
school;
- to help parents and students understand their individual rights,
the responsibilities that accompany those rights, and the social,
political, and cultural heritage that assures those rights and
responsibilities;
- to sponsor programs reflective of the rich cultural experience
of children of African American heritage;
- to ensure that all children receive the extracurricular academic
support they need.
