Marion Ivey completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education at National-Louis University in 1992.  She obtained her Master of Arts degree, also in Early Childhood Education from the University of Phoenix in 2006.  She has taught Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade Longfellow Elementary School, where she has taught since 2000.  Marion has also taught kindergarten and pre-kindergarten in other school districts.  

Marion considers herself a lifelong learner and in currently pursuing a second Master of Arts degree from National-Louis University in Curriculum and Instruction, with concentrations in English Language Learners and Special Education. She strives to be able to offer support to all of the potential students that may attend the pre-kindergarten program where she teaches.

Marion served as a Laureate for Teaching Channel, and was honored to have her class videotaped.   Her blog and videos are available online here.   Marion is an emeritus member of the Illinois Writing Project where she was active for several years.  She enjoys teaching writing with young authors.  Marion is a mother of three daughters and two dogs.  She loves to travel, dance and listen to good music.
