Students' Spotlight

Marsha Goren, Israel, and Janet Barnstable, Oak Park paired to create this GlobalDreamers site about the Holocaust. One of our own Julian Grandparents, whose family left Germany, tells her story. [4part video]

Marsha's site: GlobalDreamers has many activities throughout the year. Participation by over 100 teachers and thousands of students from over 57 countries.

Is there a difference between being a hero and being famous? Julian students partnered with students in India and Israel to look at the people in the world worthy of their admiration. They even won a prize for it!

Brownie Troup's Visit - excitement abounded as they looked at and tried on the different ethnic costumes.

Friends of the Gamelan - Gamelan is the traditional music from the islands of Indonesia. This assembly was made possible by the Multicultural Resource Center grant.

Native American Dance Demonstration - celebration of American Indian and Alaska Native heritage has roots in efforts at the turn of the century to recognize the significant contributions the first Americans.

Passport 2005 - Irving students received a passport and went on an adventure around the world. They visited 12 countries represented by parent "ambassadors" who are native to those countries, or who have travelled extensively there.
