Hello,
My name is Max Sakellaris, I am the traveling physical education teacher for District 97. The schools I will be traveling to this year are Lincoln, Irving, Mann, and Longfellow. I earned my teacher certification in physical education at Northeastern University in Chicago, IL. Before attending N.E.I.U. I earned my bachelors degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Health and Human Performance. Currently I am in my 4th year coaching varsity football and 2nd year as the head sophomore basketball at Oak Park River Forest High School.
I was born and raised in Oak Park on the 1100 block of south Euclid. I attended Lincoln school and Emerson, now Brooks. It feels great to be back in Oak Park teaching and giving back to a community that gave me so much.
At the start of this year we have played a variety of team building games. I think it is important for the students to get to know each other and for me to get to know my students before starting any units.
