Dr. Alicia Evans has resigned from her position as the district’s assistant superintendent for finance and operations to accept the position of assistant superintendent of business operations in a south suburban school district. Her final day with District 97 will be June 30, 2018.
The Board of Education accepted Evans’ resignation during its meeting on Friday, December 15. The district will immediately begin the search for Evans’ replacement, and will be retaining an executive search firm to assist with the completion of this process.
Below is a statement from Superintendent Carol Kelley regarding this announcement.
Alicia Evans has been a vital and valuable member of our district for the past two years. Her leadership was particularly critical to the successful passage of our recent referenda, and her knowledge and expertise have helped strengthen our short- and long-term financial future. I thank her for her dedicated service during her time here, and wish her all the best in her new position.
In terms of hiring Alicia’s replacement, those efforts will begin immediately, and will be carried out with the assistance of a search firm and our administrative leadership team. We will keep the community updated on the status of our search, and appreciate everyone’s continued support of our schools and the children we serve.
