District 97 Seeking New Members for the Committee for Community Engagement

District 97 is seeking dedicated individuals from the community who are interested in taking an active role in shaping the future of our schools by applying to serve in a voluntary capacity on our Committee for Community Engagement (CCE).

CCE, which meets on a monthly basis during the school year and once during the summer, provides the Board of Education and administration with ongoing expertise, strategic counsel and guidance that will help increase community interest and engagement in the work of District 97, while also fostering collaborative partnerships with community members that will aid the continued growth of the district’s schools and success of its students.

People can access additional information about CCE by visiting http://www.op97.org/boe/committee-for-community-engagement

The board is currently looking to fill two openings on CCE. People who would like to be considered for membership are asked to please submit a brief statement that answers the following three questions:

  • Why do you want to serve on CCE?
  • What role can you play in advising or supporting the board on developing new channels for two-way communication with the Oak Park community abd connecting with existing networks and institutions in the Village on issues of relevance to the district?
  • What experience do you have in communications, marketing, public interest campaigns, community organizing or community outreach?

Please submit your interest in serving on CCE and your answers to the questions to Lou Anne Johannesson by e-mailing ljohannesson@op97.org
