Oak Park Elementary School District 97 will host a community summit on Tuesday, Nov. 27, to share updates on its vision work and provide opportunities for community members to interact with district administrators.
The Vision97 4ALL summit will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the district's administration building, located at 260 Madison St. Child care will be provided.

Learn More about the Work Taking Place in Our Schools:
Strengthening Elementary School Literacy Instruction. We will strengthen K-5 literacy instruction by matching our teaching to student learning styles, incorporating student voice and being responsive to student learning needs.
Strengthening Middle School Instruction. We will revise International Baccalaureate units to reflect student-centered experiences and high-levels of expectations for our middle school students.
Co-Teaching Expansion (Inclusive Teaching Practices). We will broaden implementation of inclusive practices for students with disabilities.
Tier 1 PBIS and Culture/Climate Supports. We will help our middle school school culture/climate teams to implement Tier 1 Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS).
Social-Emotional Supports. We will leverage our increased social-emotional supports to students’ development and connection to others.

As you meet and speak with district and school officials and staff, we are hoping you will share your thoughts and reactions on how the year is going so far with your child. Additionally, toward the end of the session, we will host a "town hall" so that you can ask questions regarding our schools.
