BRAVO Performing Once On This Island, Jr.

BRAVO will be touring Holmes and Whittier on October 30 and Lincoln on November 1 with a small group from the cast of Once On This Island, Jr. The show tells the story of TiMoune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide TiMoune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

The BRAVO team for Once On This Island, Jr. has been collaborating with Evan Jacobson, who is the general music teacher at Hatch. Evan has arranged for a steel drum group comprised of current Brooks students and Hatch alumni to play during the Once On This Island performances.

In addition to the shows at the three elementary schools, there will be performances at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School on Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 3 at 2:30 p.m and 7 p.m. Tickets, which are $9 for adults and $7 for students and seniors, can be purchased at oakpark.revtrak.net and at the box office on the days of the performances. All performances are open to the public.
