The focus of my work as Teacher Leader for Instructional Technology during the 2006-07 school year will be in promoting student tech literacy at the elementary school level. Serving as a resource for teachers to help students meet the NETS standards and D97 Technology Benchmarks, I will
  • assist teachers in utilizing standards based Intellitools Classroom Suite lessons.
  • assist teachers with project planning and implementation.
  • model successful computer lab management strategies.
  • collaborate on grading and assessment.
  • offer suggestions to encourage frequent real-world learning situations using the computer as a tool.
  • suggest ways to differentiate learning through technology.
  • help teachers improve communication by utilizing teacher webpages.
  • offer a wide variety of staff training opportunities throughout the year.
If you are looking for ways to integrate technology into your classroom, please contact me to get started.
Quick Tech Tip

Students should log in with their username every time they log in to the computer. The user/user level was meant to be a backup and it isn't as efficient as logging in to the personal desktop. Learning to one's full first and last name is a useful skill as well. Try putting the username on your weekly spelling test so time isn't wasted in the labs. If they learn their usernames, it will be smooth sailing.
