Wednesday, June 3rd, the seventh graders from Julian Middle School went on their end of the year class trip to Key Lime Cove. Little did they know the impression they would make on one family. Here is an email sent regarding the day's adventures, and students truly "being the best!" Good morning, Hope that this note gets to Board of Education and teachers in S D #97 - Oak Park. Every day the newspapers and TV are full of stories about kids in trouble, kids doing wrong so I would like to share my story. Last Wednesday I was with my daughter and my three grandchildren at
Key
Lime Cove in Gurnee, Illinois. As we pulled up for a fun filled day Well, it was not crowded and the school kids from school district 97 in Oak Park were great! The kids were in 6-8th grade; they were courteous, kind, happy, and just well behaved children! A wonderful reflection of their home life and the education they are receiving. My grandchildren are 4, 6, and 8 years and the students were happy to be with little ones, kind to them when we were all playing in the basketball pool, students would toss ball back to us, smile, helpful when one of our little ones would fall over in the wave pool, just a group of happy well adjusted kids. I did not see any pushing, shoving, goofing off, just group of kids happy to be on a school outing and an excellent example of what kids should be. They were superb! Makes this old Grammie feel good to see kids so happy and
having a
great time. The students who were at Key Lime Cove are great examples
of
what kids should be like and are great examples of America's future! Keep
up the good work! |
