On the screen that comes up will be a blank area with a + near the center and a box like the one at the left. There will only be one 'dot'. More on that later. | ||||||||||
Near the +, use the text tool and type something like "play movie". Choose your font, color, size. If it's not centered on the +, use the arrow tool to move it after you have it the way you want. This will be the "up" or visible instance of the button. |

| Back now to the Up Over Down Hit that is visible in the upper left hand corner. Click in Over, go to Insert, Keyframe. Do the same for Down, and Hit. | |||||||||||
Each instance now will allow for something else to happen. Click Over, and then make a change in the words - usually just a color change. Do the same for Down. Hit is an invisible area, but it is the area that is 'activated or where the user clicks for the action. It's good to just make a rectangular or oval shape here. Remember, it won't show, but will give the user an area, rather than a single letter to click |

The button will not work until it is assigned an Action. For help doing that see the Actions page. Once a button is made it can be shared with other Flash Movies, just have both documents open and both Libraries. All Library objects can be shared. |
You'll find the button you made in the Library. Apple -L (Mac) or Control-L (Win) will open the Library Window. Alternately, from Window on the menubar, choose Library. |
