Objects
Vector-based Graphic, not bitmap. What does that mean?
Graphic is made of a line (or more correctly the description of
a line) rather than out of little dots or pixels.
Paths:
- Open a new Fireworks Document (File-New)
- Select the Rectangle tool
- Click and drag to form a rectangle
- Let go and you'll see a path
- Select the Pointer tool
- Click anywhere on the document outside the rectangle
(it seems to disappear)
- Move the pointer over the rectangle (it will
highlight so you can select it)
Drawing an object with no stroke or fill will just leave
you a path, which will not be visable.
Strokes:
Without a stroke or a fill, a path is nothing
- Open the Stroke Panel - Window-Stroke or
(Windows)- Control+Alt+B
(Mac)- Apple+Option+B
In Version MX Strokes are found in the Properties Window
- Select a stroke from the catagory list
- Select any available type listed for that
catagory
- Select color from stroke color well
- Use Edge Softness slider - to change how stroke
blends
- Use Size slider to change size
- Add texture from the Texture option list
- Set Texture opacity with Texture slider
