| Bitmap graphics are made up of "dots" of color. On the web, raster graphics (jpgs and gifs) take time to display due to their size. Resizing causes "jaggies". |
Vector-based graphics are much smaller in size and display much faster. They are not "dots" but rather paths that can be resized and still maintain their integrity. Resizing does not result in "jaggies". |
