Doing it! - Symbols

Once you have drawn an object, it is best to make it a symbol.

Go to Insert on the menubar and pull down to Convert to Symbol

Name the symbol and choose Graphic (since it's a single frame image).

Apple-L (Control-L Windows) will bring up the Library Window

where you can see the symbol displayed.

Now you can create a field of daisies using very little memory.

The original symbol in the Library is unaffected when the copies on the stage are resized or have the color (tint) or transparency (alpha) changed.

Words using fonts that are not on everyone's computer can be converted to symbols to display correctly.
