This is my 34th year teaching at Irving. I began teaching 1st grade in 1985 in an open classroom environment in the first grade pod.  That's right, many years ago there were no walls in the first grade pod.  My second year I taught Kindergarten.  The third year I was moved into 3rd grade.  I stayed in 3rd grade for 21 years teaching with many wonderful people including Ms.Tresselt.  That year Mr. Sakellaris decided he wanted to teach second grade and presently was teaching a 4/5 split classroom.  I was approached to take this position and decided it was time for a change.  Moving up with 11 of my students I began the new year eagerly.  As numbers increased at the beginning of the school year an additional teacher was added to the third floor.  Again I was approached and given the choice of what grade I wanted for the rest of the year.  I choose 4th grade as the students that were in my classroom signed up for a two year deal.  At the end of that year, Mr. Hodge decided to move me up to 5th grade.  My 11 students also moved up with me and having those same 11 students for 3 years in a row was a wonderful experience!  This will be my 11th year teaching 5th grade.

I am a graduate of Guerin Highschool in River Grove and then attended Benedictine University for a degree in elementary education and a minor in phys.ed.  I then went on to receive my master's at National Lewis University.

I currently live in Wood Dale with my dog Holli.  In my large back yard, I have a pond full of  goldfish.  I love the outdoors, especially during the fall.
