I am very fortunate to be a part of the Longfellow community!  Longfellow School is a truly wonderful place to learn and grow.  We have exceptional students and families and a very dedicated and supportive group of staff members.  I grew up in Oak Park and went through the District 97 school system myself.  I went to Lincoln Elementary School, Emerson Junior High (now Brooks Middle School), and Oak Park and River Forest High School.  After graduating from OPRF in 2000, I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004 and my master's degree in Reading Education from Concordia University in 2008.  I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in seventh grade.  My ultimate goal was always to get a teaching job in Oak Park so that I could give back to the wonderful District 97 school system that I gained so much from.  I have been teaching for 14 years, all of which have been at Longfellow.  I taught 4th and 5th grade Title I reading and math for one year, 5th grade for six years, and now, this will be my seventh year of teaching third grade.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, event and party planning, watching Chicago sporting events (especially the White Sox!), taking walks, shopping, and playing with dogs!  I live in downtown Oak Park with my fiance, Jeremiah.   Our wedding is this December at Guaranteed Rate Field (Sox Park!)

I am looking forward to a spectacular third grade year with all of you!
