Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! This year’s theme is “Unlocking Student Potential.”
The driving force behind our work will be the continued advancement of our vision, which is to create a positive learning environment for all students that is equitable, inclusive, and focused on the whole child.
We believe all students can learn at high levels with consistent, effective teaching. Further, we believe good teaching and successful schools can thrive with strong, courageous leadership and sound organizational practices. It is with these beliefs in mind that I proudly present the district’s 2017-2022 Vision Plan (#vision97). [click here to access]
This Vision Plan will guide our work on behalf of the children we serve; furthermore, this document will serve as the agent to bring coherence across our school system. Every district, school, and teacher leader; every staff member; every parent; and every community member can use this plan to execute and champion these ideals by aligning their respective work to our shared vision.
You can learn more about how our schools and classrooms are working toward our vision in several ways. First, beginning in October, we will be conducting monthly learning sessions on the targeted strategies and objectives outlined in our plan. The dates and descriptions for each learning session can be found here.
In addition to these learning sessions, I will be hosting Superintendent’s Community Café Chats throughout the community throughout the school year.
