Message from February 9, 2018

It was great to see students so excited about the book exchange. Thank you to our parent volunteers for making this experience possible.

It’s hard to believe we have already completed 100 days of school, but here we are! To celebrate, our Kindergarteners practiced counting to 100 and dressed up like cowfolk. It was great fun! Thank you to all the parents who donated to our teacher appreciation breakfast and lunch! Our dedicated teachers worked long and hard to prepare for the many conference meetings. We truly appreciate your time and the generous donations to help make their days a bit easier.

Hatch's All-School Science Fair will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018. Individuals, sibling groups, and other team partnerships are welcome and encouraged to sign up. Science Fair projects are done outside of school, and are a wonderful way for students to practice the Scientific Method and explore a topic of their choice.

Please direct any questions to Science Fair chairperson Lynda Ficca, 5th grade teacher, at: [email protected].  Information on how to find a project and how to conduct a Science Fair experiment will be posted shortly on the Hatch website. If you would like to participate, please fill out this Google Form.

In order to ensure the safety of our students, we are asking parents who drive their children to please drive slowly and carefully when near school grounds. Please obey all traffic laws and be extra careful at intersections. Please do not double park nor block the street nor driveways during drop off/pick up. Whenever possible please opt to walk your student to and from school. Let’s all work together to keep our students safe!

If your child’s classroom will be celebrating Valentine’s Day next week, please do not send food as Valentines. As will other holidays, any food served at a celebration must be pre-approved by Nurse Rossi two weeks in advance. The food chosen should be from the approved food list. Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation in ensuring a safe celebration for all our children!
