Please be sure to complete this year’s Illinois 5Essentials Survey! This is a unique opportunity to not only provide feedback to the school and district, but to support Hatch on a larger scale. School-level reports will be generated if at least 20 percent of parents respond to the survey. It should only take approximately 10 minutes to complete. If parents have more than one child that attends the same school, they may elect to participate multiple times. For parents with children enrolled in multiple schools, we recommend that they participate in the survey for each school. Mann School has once again challenged us to a competition around parent participation, so please help us reach our goal. We are currently in 2nd place!! Thank you for your support!

We enjoyed a lovely winter steel band performances this week. Kudos to our young musicians for all their hard work and to Mr. Jacobson and Mr. Deaton for facilitating these wonderful experiences.

We’ve had an increase in the number of students tardy to school recently. It is essential for students’ learning that they be here and be on time. It truly sets the tone for a child’s day and helps them feel successful and secure as they move through their learning activities. Please make every effort to help your child get to school on time. Thank you!

Holiday parties will be held in classrooms the afternoon of Friday, December 21st. If you have questions about the holiday party, please contact the head room parent for your child’s classroom. We will also honor the holiday season together with our annual holiday sing. There will be limited seating for parents at the sing. If you plan to attend, please sign in at the office and we will seat you once the children have taken their places.

Also, as we approach the last week before the holidays, I want to thank all of our room parents, as well as Nurse Rossi, for their flexibility and thoughtfulness regarding food at celebrations. With an ever increasing number of allergies, both diagnosed and undiagnosed, keeping our children safe is always our main concern. We appreciate your partnership in being as preventative as possible!

As we prepare for the holiday break, please remember to check the lost and found for any missing items. Labeling your child’s clothes and outerwear is a great way to avoid having to search!
