Phase 4 Update: District 97 Playgrounds Now Open

Now that the state of Illinois is in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, District 97 is reopening all school playgrounds. Please note, the district is unable to sanitize or clean the playgrounds between each use, and basketball hoops will not be reinstalled at this time.

Additionally, the community should be aware that there are active construction zones at Hatch, Irving and Mann elementary schools, which may impact playground accessibility.

The public should use the playgrounds cautiously at their own risk. If you decide to visit the playgrounds, District 97 asks you to follow the guidelines below to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Maintain a distance of six feet from anyone who is not in your household.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a mask or cloth covering.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If you or a household member feel sick, stay home.

If you have any questions regarding the reopening of the playgrounds, please email [email protected].
