  • District 97 Trimester 3 Learning Selection Form Due Feb. 18 at 10 p.m.

District 97 Trimester 3 Learning Selection Form Due Feb. 18 at 10 p.m.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, District 97 will continue to utilize a hybrid learning model through the end of 2020-21 school year. Between now and Feb. 18, we are asking families to decide whether your student(s) will participate in on-site classes during Trimester 3, or whether they will participate in full-time remote learning (via live streaming).

We are asking all parents to complete the Trimester 3 Learning Selection Form for each student in their household by 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021. Translated versions of the form are linked below.

Before you complete this form, here are some things you need to know:

  • The district will continue to utilize the hybrid learning/safety plans included in our updated Framework for Reopening Schools. We have also put together a brief FAQ for Trimester 3 to help families during the enrollment process.

  • Your selection will apply to Trimester 3, which begins Monday, March 15, and goes through the last day of school, June 10. Students who select remote learning will not be able to switch to on-site learning once the form closes.

  • If we do not receive a student’s form by the end of the day Feb. 18, they will default to their learning selection for Trimester 2.

  • You should receive a confirmation email from Google once the form is submitted. Please check your Spam folder if it does not appear in your inbox.

  • It is possible that the district will need to make adjustments to the existing schedules if there is an increased number of in-person selections. That decision will be based on on-site enrollment, building capacity and the latest COVID-19 guidelines. We will make every effort to provide consistency for our students and families and maximize the number of instructional hours on site.

  • Guidance from the CDC and state and local health departments is updated frequently to account for our growing understanding of COVID-19 and effective strategies for preventing the spread of the virus. As a result, our plans may change over time. For example, the research from Harvard University that informed our updated metrics cites 3 feet of social distancing between young learners as an important element of infection control. We will be reviewing this information as we make determinations for Trimester 3. Any changes to our district or school safety plans will be communicated to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
