Gina Herrmann Resigns as Senior Director of Human Resources

Gina Herrmann has resigned from her position as the district’s senior director of human resources to accept the position of assistant superintendent of human resources for Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Elementary District 181. Her final day with District 97 will be June 30, 2021.

The Board of Education is expected to accept Herrmann’s resignation during its next business meeting on June 8. The district is currently exploring the options that are available for filling the human resources position and will keep the community updated on the status of these efforts.

“I am very grateful to have spent the past two years working with the exceptional leadership team, board of education and staff of District 97,” Herrmann said. “This was not an easy decision, but one that allows me to work closer to home and continue to grow professionally.”

Below are statements from Interim Superintendent Patricia Wernet and District 97 Board President Jung Kim regarding this announcement.

“Gina Herrmann has been a valuable and trusted member of the District 97 administrative team for the past two years,” Wernet said. “We are especially grateful for the expertise and leadership she provided as we navigated the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. On behalf of District 97, I want to thank Gina for her service and dedication to our students, staff and community, and wish her all the best in this new endeavor.”

“The board of education is sad to see Gina Herrmann leave our district,” Kim said. “She has worked tirelessly since her arrival, and her leadership has been particularly vital during this difficult and challenging year. We wish her the absolute best in her new position. She will be difficult to replace.”
